Each canvas represents my partner or I. Within each canvas, the background features a childhood home, symbolizing past joys and lessons that have informed who we are today. Together, both halves create a larger image of our lives parallel and then together. The hills cascade from both sides to the overlapping foreground as a metaphor for our lives coming together. Our two cats serve as a marker of the beginning of our own family and they serve as witnesses to our lives together. The perspective implies there is more beyond the frame of the canvases—into our new home of today.
