Two Homes to One
A reflection on two distinct pasts coming together to form a union, united by a shared desire to build and create a new home of their own.

The two canvases represent my partner and I. Within each canvas, the background features a childhood home which represents past joys, baggage, and lessons that has informed who we are today. The foreground depict our two cats who are looking back onto our childhood homes as a witness to who we are today and what we lived to get here. The foreground represents the beginning of our new home together as the ground overlaps onto one another. Hills cascade from our pasts to the foreground of what we built together and the perspective implies more beyond the frame of the canvases — into our new home of today.
